KNME - Public TV for Northern and Central New Mexico, offers FREE opportunities for childcare professionals, pre-K teachers and parents. Through our Ready to Learn Service, you can to learn how to use on-air, online, and print resources to prepare children for success in school. We also use early literacy activities to help families and educators learn how to keep kids healthy KNME training workshops match state competencies with curricular goals to encourage and empower caregivers to use PBS media as an educational tool. Our service has been endorsed by the NMPED for professional development hours.
Sesame Street: Michelle Obama and Elmo - Healthy Habits
The KNME Ready To Learn Service provides free local trainings to childcare providers, parents and caregivers using PBS children’s programming, materials, and curriculum. These trainings reach hundreds of caregivers a year and offer professional development opportunity and resources for free. Community funders include Bernalillo County Parks and Recreation, PNM Resources Foundation, Bank of America, as well as a federal funding from the Department of Education. Free Saturday workshops and trainings that are offered twice a month where caregivers can get training certification toward licensure, plus materials and children’s books.
