We are excited to announce that Education for Parents with Indian Children with Special Needs (EPICS) and Parents Reaching Out (PRO) will be merging our Family Leadership Academy and Family Leadership Action Network (FLAN) conference into one Family Leadership Conference this coming year. The conference will be held Thursday, March 21 - Saturday, March 23, 2013 at theBuffalo Thunder Casino & Resort. EPICS will continue to have Pre-Conference activities on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. We are looking forward to offering this new and exciting conference for families across the state and our neighboring states to network, learn, be empowered and develop as leaders. "Special Education Law & Advocacy" Pre-Conference with Pete Wright, Esq.
8:00am - 5:00pm
Pete Wright of "Wrightslaw" will be offering a one-day pre-conference session on Special Education Law & Advocacy. Pre-Conference participants will learn:
- special education law, rights and responsibilities
- tests and measurements to measure progress & regression
- SMART IEPs
- introduction to tactics & strategies for effective advocacy
Registrants for the Pre-Conference will receive copies of Pete Wright Books.
