This exciting position will coordinate the federal "Race To the Top - Early Learning Challenge" grant initiative to develop a Tiered Quality Rating and Improvement System (TQRIS) for the Family Infant Toddler (FIT) program in order to measure the quality of early intervention services provided to infants and toddlers with and at risk for developmental delays and disabilities and their families.

Purpose of Position

This position will coordinate the federal "Race To the Top - Early Learning Challenge" grant initiative to develop a Tiered Quality Rating and Improvement System (TQRIS) for the Family Infant Toddler (FIT) program in order to measure the quality of early intervention services provided to infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families. This will involve developing quality measurement tools, developing training, piloting the continuous quality improvement system with providers, and implementing the system statewide with all provider agencies. This position will manage a number of statewide contracts that will provide training and coaching to FIT provider agencies and will involve collaboration with personnel for the Public Education Department and the Children Youth and Families Department in order to align the TQRIS across early care and learning programs 

This position is a Pay Band 70.

 Classification Description:

Social & Community Service Coordinator-Advanced

 Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology and/or Family Studies/Services and four (4) or more years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health and/or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.


Employment Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certificate as a condition of continued employment within 45 days of employment. Travel may be required with some occasional overnight stays. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training.

Minimum qualifications:  at least 18 years of age, an Associates (Bachelor's or advanced degree preferred) in early childhood education or an Associate degree (or higher) in field related to early childhood education and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education with experience teaching preschool chilfre.  Able to obtain a Baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education.  Valid NM deriver's license, clear driving record and own transportation.  Ability to travel out of town to conduct or complete job responsibilities.  Able to be cleared through NM State Licensing Bureau requirements for employment in childcare.

Rio Grande School, an independent elementary school in Santa Fe, seeks candidates for a Full-time Early Childhood Associate Teacher (3 year olds) position beginning August 2014. Associate teachers assist the lead teacher in all aspects to deliver curriculum. The school’s curriculum is a balance between progressive and traditional with a focus on student inquiry and the needs of the individual learner.  Classroom culture is infused with Responsive Classroom practices with emphasis on social emotional learning.  Upon graduation from sixth grade our students usually matriculate at leading independent secondary schools.
