St. Joseph Community Health

St. Joseph Community Health is working to give our children a healthy start in life.  We believe that if you change the first five years you change everything.   Research has shown that 90% of our brain architecture develops between the ages of 0 and 5 years – and early experiences determine whether a child’s developing brain architecture provides a strong or weak foundation for all future learning, behavior and health.

Our Programs:

St. Joseph First Born® Home Visiting Program  This home-based program provides mothers, fathers and primary care providers with education and support to encourage normal growth and development of happy, healthy babies in positive, nurturing families.

St. Joseph Enhanced Referral Program
This program will put children and families at the center of a community of support services. The program is closely linked to, and integrated with, the St. Joseph First Born Home Visiting Program. Children and families served currently are those enrolled in the Home Visiting Program. This is a “strength-based” referral program that is respectful of individuals and builds on the needs identified by, or with, the individual or family.

St. Joseph will focus its advocacy efforts on issues that impact the health of the young children of New Mexico.
